Major Arcana
The World
A figure dances inside a wreath with the four creatures of the elements at the corners, holding a wand in each hand. The World is the last card of the Major Arcana and the only one that shows a finished thing. Everything in it is closed, integrated, and in place. It describes completion that was actually earned: the qualification finished, the debt cleared, the long project delivered, the version of yourself you spent years assembling. The satisfaction here is specific — it is the relief of a loop closing rather than the excitement of a beginning. Its quiet condition is that endings are also thresholds. The wreath is a circle, and the deck starts again at The Fool. Take the completion seriously and do not rush past it, but understand that this is a landing rather than a destination.

Upright meaning
Completion, integration, and a cycle closing properly. Upright, The World favours graduation, travel, delivery, and any situation reaching the end it was working toward. It reads as an unambiguous yes on questions of achievement. Mark the ending before you start asking what is next.
Reversed meaning
Nearly, but not closed. Reversed, The World covers projects at ninety percent, endings without closure, and the sense of having arrived somewhere that does not feel like arriving. It can mark a shortcut taken near the finish. Find the loose end — it is usually small, and usually the reason nothing feels finished.
What the card offers
Completion and success are within reach.
The World in love
Completion, and the peace of it. A relationship reaching its full form — a commitment, a long chapter closing well, or a sense of belonging that is no longer in question. The World also covers endings that are genuinely finished, including ones that free you. Whatever it closes, it closes properly, and what begins afterwards begins clean.
The World in work and career
The work is done. A qualification finished, a project delivered, a career reaching the thing it was aiming at. The World carries accomplishment and also the specific flatness that follows accomplishment. It favours travel, international work, and a scope larger than the one you started in. Take the completion seriously before starting the next thing.
The World and wellbeing
Wholeness — a treatment completed, a recovery that holds, a body and mind working as one system again. The World is the card for the end of a long health chapter rather than a good day inside one. It also asks for integration: the practices that got you here are what maintain it, and abandoning them is how the cycle restarts.
The World on the spiritual path
The circuit closed. The World is integration — the parts of a life, and of a self, arriving in the same place at the same time. It is the end of the Major Arcana and it opens directly onto The Fool, which is the actual teaching: completion is real, and it is also the beginning of the next one.
